ett mästerverk, helt klart. U2s brottarhit With Or Without You från Joshua Tree 1987, en av mina absoluta favoritlåtar. just därför blev jag så förvånad när lovsångsbandet Be & Le (vem kom på det namnet förresten? 0/10) spelade den under ett lovsångspass på hönökonferensen. jag kunde inte sjunga den. på något sätt har jag alltid sett with or without you som en klagovisa över kärlek som aldrig fulländas. personen som talar vet att han inte kan få sin älskade, men vet samtidigt att han alltid kommer hemsökas av den andra personen. förvisso kanske ett förhållande man känner att man ibland har till jesus kristus, men ingenting jag vill stå och sjunga om på ett tältmöte direkt.

finns det bra alternativa tolkningar här? jag har läst om att den skulle handla om en missbrukares relation till sitt beroende, vilket nog är en bra tolkning även det. men jag är nyfiken på hur texten kan tolkas till en lovsång.
